Streaking Hermit Crab?!

I recently purchased a few blue legged hermit crabs. This morning I noticed an empty shell and the crab is streaking up and down the tank. Is this normal?

Are they nudists?

Sounds to me like he's looking for a new home. Must have outgrown the apartment.
