stress coat

this may be a stupid question but, should I be adding strees coat to my saltwater like I did with fresh. like with water changes and cleanings

DUH!!!,
YOU SHOULD ADD A BOTTLE (8 OZ.) FOR EVERY 3 GALLONS RIGHT AWAY!!! :scared: GO TO WAL MART AND GET 24 BOTTLES AND DUMP THEM IN YOUR FUGE!!!! THIS SHOULD REMOVE ALL STRESS!!!!

Don't listen to these people. Bang Guy says he thinks stress coat is harmful and I trust him. He's been around for a long time. These two as you can see are new. The mods should do something about people giving bad information intentionally like above ^^^^. Go to the search tab and type in stress coat and read a little on it.

Umm no.
If you are using RO/DI, distilled, or even water that has set out overnight you do not need to add any type of stress coat (dechlorinator). If you have a skimmer, adding stresscoat will make it go beserk.

i always add melafix to my tanks when adding or moving my fish for 3 days not only does it help with rebuilding the natural slime coat of fish it also helps reduce the accual stress of the fish,in a natural form and yes its reef safe.also used for minor bacterial and fungal diseases that could be present on new arrivals. my experience with this product has been over 4 1/2 yrs using it 100% survival rate of newcommers that were dosed when adding to the tank.50% survival rate for new commers not dosed.
