ok all I am back with another question and probably the most evident that I am a rookie yet... but I added My salt to the water yesterday and the water is very cloudy with some salt settling to the bottom of the tank... I have one millenium 3000 running on the tank to try and circulate the water... is there anything else I can or should do ?? I have ls coming in thursday that was ordered of the net and trying find out if need do anymore with the water before it gets here...
the salinity is 1.017 so don't think it is over saturated
any and all help and suggestions welcomed.. thanks in advance.

If I am reading this right you added the salt to the water in the tank which yes is one way to do it. I find it easier to mix my water in a bucket check the salinity then add to tank that eliminates the need for it to dissolve and possibly give you a inaccurate reading of the salinity. In your case you will have to give it time to dissolve but it should be set before Thursday. And before someone posts how can you do all that if you have a big tank I would respond I did my 125 and 135 that way and frankly every tank I have ever had that was SW (but that is me and it is not the only way to do it- the above disussed way is done by many). Oh yes I just loved doing 24 buckets of salt that one night it just made my day and night (till 3am that is when I finished lol).

thanks pufferlover... wish had thought of that before hand... am going to mix up 50 gallons extra for changes and such and will do it that way..
will wait then and let it all dissolve and hope for best then.... can't wait to see the live sand when put it in will actually bea start on the tank then...LOL
thanks

Robert,
Is it the 100 gallon you have filled with saltwater ?
I've got a Millenium 3000 running on a small freshwater tank.
If this is all you have for water circulation, you may want to place a powehead or two in the tank. This will help disolve any salt that has settled out, and will increase your water turnover a lot.
Just an idea - shouldn't cost too much, and you'll need them anyways eventually ;)

Be patient - If your temp is low (below 74-78) then your salt will dissolve slower as well. I recommend you add a couple of power heads on each side of the tank for circulation. that'll do it. Have you added the substrate(sand/argonite) yet? Since your tank is cloudy, might as well put in the non-live sand now
