Stupid clownfish -- any recomendations?

I've found these forums very helpful in the past, so I'm going to see what people think about this one.
I've got a 20 gal. here are my specs so far:
1 blue and gold damsel
1 false perc
1 turbo snail
2 hermit crabs
1 peppermint shrimp
1 emrald crab
my problem is this: I added the false perc yesterday morning, and he hasn't left the spot in the tank I released him into. He stays in the upper left, front corner of my tank, wriggling around, but doesn't go anywhere. He only eats what floats into his mouth. Most of the time his nose (for lack of a better term) stays pressed against the glass. I'd like for him to do something more interesting than look retarted. My damsel isn't harassing him or anything. It's been almost 36 hours since I put him in the tank. Any ideas?

Yep, it just sounds like he's stressed and fish stress can come from a number of sources, poor water quality, being picked on by another fish, etc. Test your water to make sure it's ok then make sure he has plenty of hidey spots till he calms down. Since he's so new as long as he's eating and you don't see any signs of problems like tattered fins, spots, or gasping I'd say he's probably just still stressed from being moved and will come around in time.

yeah looks like you got nemo's dad (lol sorry its what came to mind). give him time and keep the lights off. He will eventually get tired of being in that same corner and want to live like a fish if he's healthy.

FWIW...we've had a fish that was picked on by our largest Green Chromis & it didn't show any chewed fins or such. Damsels can be aggressive, & perhaps the damsel is picking on your Clown when you're not looking?
I would give it a few days & see if the Clown adjusts. I'd make sure there were plenty of hiding spaces for the Clown as well.
Good luck!!

Sounds like normal behavior for a newly introduced clown. As long as you acclimated it properly he'll be fine.

That's certainly true!! I've seen an aggressive fish "stare down" or just swim in the general direction of a less aggressive one creating stress!
