I was just wondering if i really need to buy those exspensve $23 apiece flourence bulb from the lfs or is there a less exspensive way to do it, All i want really is to keep zoos. anyone have any ideas. this question is for the 40 gal the 10 will be history in a couple months (or I might keep both, I'm starting to get the itch for saltwater tanks.)

how many watts are the pc's you're referring to? for a 22" or 23" bulb rated at 55 or 65 watts, that's a pretty decent price. my lfs's sell those size bulbs for around 40 dollars.
