Stupid question :)

I'm sure the answer is simple but I had to ask anyhow. Will copepods, worms, and all other small bugs magically appear in a well established tank or do I have to seed the tank with a couple of each species for them to multiply?

Do you have live rock in the tank? If you do then they will start to multiply and you will have more then you can handle in a few tanks.
Peace

I have tons of live rock. It's all full of coraline algae too. I used to have a flourishing tank until I came across a faulty test kit and killed my tank. I basically started over from scratch. The only thing I still kept was my live rock. I used all new substrate. My old tank had tons of life in it and now there obviously isn't any. I bought my setup used so i basically assumed all the live critters in there came with the tank when I transferred it from the guys house. I'll keep my eye out for life. Thanks :)

what was it that killed off your tank? What a good indication that a test kit is bad???
Are there any brands of test kits you would stray from???

Stay away from the Marine Lab saltwater test kit from Red Sea Pharm. Nobody on this board likes the test kit and I found out why. Basically the test kit said my Ph was extremely high and my alkalinity was very low. Well, i kept doing water changes to fix the problem and it never seemed to fix it. I also buffered the tank every day to hopefully raise the alk. Well, I basically destroyed my tank because it turned out that my alkalinity was so high that it was off the scale. It also turned out that my Ph was fine. I know this because I finally got the brains to have my water tested by somebody else. Too late though. All my corals died. My fish lived though. Just stay away from that brand of test kits.
