Ok I got a purple hard coral that was about 1.5 inches tall
My LFS "reef safe" crab (never trust them again) chewed it down to .5 inch. So I took the crab back and the coral is still in the tank and now its turned white. If I keep it in the tank will it eventually sprout back or should I just toss it?

i would say hold on to the coral for a while and see if it does recover
what kind of "reef safe" crab did you get?

It was a big Hermit crab but I did not read what it was i just asked the guy if it was reef safe and he said yes. So I got it. He never touched anything in my tank but as soon as I put a hard coral in there munch munch munch over night.
Then I went online and found out that they can eat hard corals.
The parts where he chewed are white but the base still has a cream coloration so hopefully it will bounce back.

i had a nice piece of SPS bleach out on my and i have left it in there in the hope that it will come back
but considering that the purple coraline algae has started to cover it, i dont think thats going to happen
