What's the difference in aragonit sand and regular sand.
I have about 20lbs. of sand in my 125gal tank and I'm about to add 50lbs. of SD sand, which is a finer texture than the sand I have in there now. Is it alright to blend the two then add l/s later?

southdown sand is aragonite sand.
aragonite sand will slowly dissolve over time restoring trace elements, buffering PH and calcium, etc
"regular" sand is nothing more than tiny pieces of glass and is not recommended for a reef tank.

aragonite sand is calcium carbonate and regular sand is silicon dioxide.
