Im setting up a new tank (60 gal) and putting in my water tonight. Im using water and LR from my other tanks. My question is how deep should the sand be? I bought argonite (spelling) and theres about 1.25 inches in it right now. Is that too much or not enough? Thanks for the help.

The obvious benafit of a DEEP sand bed is it's ability to convert nitrates to nitrogen gas, thus compleating the nitrogen cycle.A sand bed of about 4" is needed for this.So if you are going to use sand, why not set it up so it actually benafits the tank.Other than just looking better than CC...
