Substrate question

Does anyone have any experience with using rock rubble as a substrate? I read about it in another forum, but there wasn't much information. It sounds interesting, but what type of tanks could you keep use it in? Just FOWLR or could it possibly be used in a reef tank? Any information on this would be extremely appreciated.

The way I understood it, was that the rubble is just like little pieces of live rock, that "makes a unique natural environment as well as a substrate. It provides great places for animals to grow, reproduce, and hunt. It also mimics rubble zones in reefs. Filtration: It provides an environment for ammonia and nitrites to be filtered. Nitrates are broken down inside the larger peices of rubble instead of in an area that is created from the substrate"
Sounds great to me...different and natural :happyfish
