substrate question

I currently have an established fish only 150g with crushed coral substrate. I am thinking of changing the substrate to sand. Any special considerations here? Thanks in advance.

biological filtration will be disrupted when you do so have a lot of water change water ready so if you go through a mini cycle and have it all well planned out and as quickly as possible next thing is have an alternate place for livestock new sand can cause a massive dust cloud in the tank for a couple of days.

During this "dust storm" fish can easily get abbrasions on their gills turning it into a more serious issue than having a mini-cycle start. I don't know how many fish you have but can you run a QT for a few days.
