Sudden Shrinkage of a Coral

Why do corals shrink sometimes w/out any changes in light or any disturbances from outside?
Like for example, you look at them they are fine, all open, then you go do something, come back, and they are shrunk, then in an hour or so back to open.
My open brain was fine yesterday, and half an hour later it was all shriveled up, and then opened up again.
Is this normal stuff?

Mine does the same thing when he eats, at first he swells up sometimes with his sweepwer out and the shrivels up. It happens once in a while especially at night.

Oh wow, so that weird antenna looking thing that looks like feathers is actually called a "sweeper"?. Is that how it finds food? I always wondered what that thing is.
