sufficient filtration for saltwater?

I have a 10gallon tank that was previously freshwater that i want to use as a QT for saltwater. The only filtration is a unit that sucks water in from the tank into a housing that has a mechanical filter and activated carbon. I'm wondering if this is sufficient for saltwater filtration on say 4" of fish. The pump supposedly pulls 330gallons per hour. Any thoughts? If i need to add something to help filter nitrates please say so. Keep in mind no LR or LS here, glass bottom QT. Thanks in advance.

Ok I'm new to this myself but I've heard people say that they keep a small corner filter in the display tanks sump. Then when they need a qt thay take water from the display tank and the small corner filter and put them in the qt. I have never tried this but this is what I'm going to try when I set up my first qt. good luck

That sounds fine for a QT, but do frequent water changes when you have fish in there and start getting nitrates and stuff.
