Ive noticed some a ton of the same question posted. On one of the other boards I frequent (not fish related) they have what is called a Tech Archive this is a sticky which contains links to threads which cover some of the basic questions. I think this would be a great idea here...add stuff like Why a DSB? How to cycle and stuff like that....just a suggestion.

Yes I do agree the search function is great but if there was an organized tech archive with facts not opinions or at least more than one opinion I think it would help out alot

On one aquarium BBS I go to they have a FAQ board. On that board they list all the top aquarium questions. I think that would be a very good idea. The nice thing about it is its a closed moderated board. If you post on it it won't show up unless a moderator OK's it first. That way you only get real honest good opinions that are easy for a beginner to understand.
This board also has a very large Read Here First Text on the main page.

Sammy, that is a VERY good pt when it comes to dated material in the Search Feature. Use your good judgement hobbyists!
Also, the suggestions initiated in this thread, I find very interesting and worth considering.

I agree Beth,
What I am talking about would be a FAQ board that would have questions like
"Whats a DSB and why should I have one"
we could then post answers to the questions and you sharks would then OK them to be posted. What you would have would be a group of very good answers that would be very helpful for newbies. You also wouldn't get answers like. "Get a DSB, with your LR or FOWLR, and then get a good denitravore kit, they rule" that kind of answer is of no help to a newbie. This would prevent the same questions from apearing on an almost daily basis.

If anyone were to ask me what this site is missing, not only would I agree with the FAQ, but I would also have to say that a comprehencive page that newmembers have to read before starting any posts (a welcoming page)
This could include links to the store, FAQ, and images. Also I have noticed that there are alot of corals, inverts, etc that do not have pictures.
Basically what I am saying is even I am still figuring this website out, and there are times I won't know about a feature untill I read a post that tells about them.(I couldn't find the dry goods untill last week)
Please don't take offence, this is an awesome site, just alot of people are used to normal frames pages with a top header and side site jumper.
