Suggestions on my next fish

Alright,
After two hours this afternoon i finally caught and removed my damsels. Currently i just have a 2 inch Sebae Clown in a 55 gallon tank. I am wondering what would be a good next fish that will be able to hold its own if the clown messes with him. I tried to add a six-line wrasse the other day and the damsels killed him :( I would like to add any of the following fish:
Flame Angel or Coral Beauty
Banggai Cardinal
Neon Gobie
Purple Firefish
Flame Hawkfish
Mandarin
Six-Line Wrasse - may try again
I would like to give my clown some company, he looks really lonely without his two evil sidekicks. I believe he is good at heart

All of those fish seem Ok to add except the mandarin. If you didn't know mandarins are filter feeders and rarely except any food you may give them. Most only live a few months unless the tank is well established (like over a year old) I had one in my tank for about three months and watched as it slowly withered away. It ate my entire population of pods.

Yeah the mandarin and the flame angel i was going to wait a good while on. I know they are tougher to take care of. I have 50 lbs of LR now and am going to get about 20 more lbs down the road. i want to give the pod population some time to grow before a mandarin comes in and takes over. I know you want to add the more aggressive stuff towards the end so a hawkfish might be out of the question now. I dont want anything else to die, 1 was too many! I am just so afraid of how my clown will act to something docile.
