Sump and return pump?

I have ordered my new Oceanic 128 gal. reef ready. I am trying to decide on my sump and return pump. I plan to have a sectioned diy sump with a refugium. The tank is 60X18X28, so my options on sump size seem to be a 38gal. or 55 gal. If I use a 55, I will not have much room left in my stand and on the other hand, is a 38 big enough?
Then do I do acrylic so I can drill and ad a bulkhead for an external pump, or use glass and have a submersible pump?

I have a 120 with about a 30 gallon sump, so I would say that a 38 gallon would be plenty. You can get glass and drill it too. I buy my drill bits here...

Pretty easy to do. You need the drill bit, a drill, and some water to cool it while drilling.

Thanks for the reply. What is your opinion on submersible versus inline as far as the pump is concerned?

If you have the room go inline. I have a submersble(sp?) but sometimes when my power goes off in my apartment and comes back in the pump doesnt start unless i take it out of the water and bang on it lol
