Sump construction help ?

I would like to build a sump for my 33 gallon tank. This tank doesn't have any predrilled holes on the bottom or sides. Can a sump still be made. Tips on building and pump recommendations would be great. Thank you.

If you don't want to drill; you may consider installing a Syphon type overflow-skimmer. One advantage to this type of device is that it draws water from the surface of the water where most of the protines (sp) are, allowing you to filter them out.

No problem ....
Sump can be as simple or as ellaborate as you want to make it.
I've got a basic 30 gallon rubbermaid plastic container under my 75. Pretty basic.
You'll need a minimum of;
A hang on the back dual overflow boxes, u-tube syphon, prefilter sponge, overflow hose, sump container, return pump, return pump hose, spraybar and appropriate hose clamps ... those are necessary basic components you'll need for it work.
Heater and skimmer contained in the sump. Much of the wet work like kalk drip, water changes, additives all preformed in the sump.
When you're laying out your plan/design, keep in mind you'll need to access these components from time to time for cleaning and maintenance. Try to have a large enough sump so you're not trying to cram everything in there.
Many people DIY on the overflow and spray bars. I'm sure they can help you on that end of it.
If you are hesitant about DIY - I'd suggest you purchase those items.
