Sump Design

I have a 75g DT and my friend made a 20g tank for me into a sump to use under my tank. I want to make sure I have it set up right. This is the a diagram of the 20g sump that was set up for me. Please advise.

Looks like it should work, do you have a hang on the back skimmer?
I had problems where my skimmer would over flow on occasion so I built a sump that housed the skimmer, and if it overflowed a bit it just dumped it back in the tank versus my carpet.

+1 that should work for you.
IMO I'd toss the bioballs and get filter bags and fill them with carbon and chemipure.
The purpose of the bioballs is to generate beneficial bacteria and you are already doing that with chaeto and mud. To get clean water you'll need some chemical filtration and/or a skimmer.

I do have a HOB skimmer on my DT. I guess I didn't think about what the bioballs were actually doing so I will take those out and add some carbon. Thanks for the info! When I first hooked up the sump I almost flooded the floor. I only hope this doesn't happen. lol.
