Sump/fuge design help; skimmer ID

Yes, you read that correctly. I've been out of the hobby for about two years and am setting up my old 125 reef again. I have a decent-looking skimmer, but looks can be deceiving and it's unlabeled, so I was wondering if any of you could ID this skimmer:

As you can see, it's pretty big and bad, and I've cleaned it up a bit since these pics were taken. I'm just hoping the bugger works.
And on to the more impressive/scary question: I have a 20 gal and a 10 gal that were both used as fresh water tanks. The 20 is taller than the 10, and I read somewhere that I could make them work as a team for my sump/fuge. I was figuring I'd turn the 10 into the fuge and have the 20 be my sump, but I don't know ANYTHING about the plumbing. Last time I had this set up, I was running a teensy wet/dry with bioballs. All of my plumbing was flexible, clear plastic hosing. Pretty much everything I see now has SERIOUS BUSINESS pvc pipes. What?? When did that happen? How big does the pipe need to be? How big does my return pump need to be? What the hell am I doing?

I've made some friends in the area who are willing to help me out if I have a design/the mats, but I really don't know what I'm doing and some help would... well, help.

Please & thanks, guys

You can pump the water into the fuge and let it overflow back into the sump. You will need to drill the fuge at the level you want the water to be. Elevate the fuge so the pvp pipe can go over the top of the sump and into the return section. Remember the flow in the fuge is very slow mine runs about 30-40gph. And make sure you leave enough room if you pumps shut off the sump will not overflow.
