sump fuge diy questions

when building a seperate sump fuge systyem should the water go into the sump or fuge first?
I was planning on having the water flow from the overflow into the fuge then into the sump and back to the tank. is it better to have the fuge before the sump or the other way around

A lot of people prefer to split the overflow with part of it going into the sump and part of it going into the refugium, this is so you do not have quite as much flow going through the fuge (beneficial for pods to have less flow). If you have to have one or the other then go ahead and run it through the fuge first so that the algea gets all the nutrients it needs and then it goes to the skimmer.

u should have ur overflow come down one side .. with skimmer.. and then have baffles for microbubbles and then return and then the fuge if ur looking for pods... i also have a grooved (teeth) baffle to split the fuge this way water can flow over... u don't want a lot of flow through that part... just my setup... and opinion
