Got my sump/fuge finished up today.
I took the old light from my Eclipse 12 and cut it up and modded it to work as my fuge light. It's a 16 watt 50/50 marineland light.
I am debating wether or not to put in a DSB while I am cycling. I just dont think I will have enough room with the skimmer in there.
Maybe I would have to build a stand in there for the skimmer to elevate it up more.
I have cheato in my nano ready to go in after the cycle and am gonna do a reverse light cycle so the cheato will have light at night.
What do you think? DSB or not?

i would use a bulb suitable for plants(6500k or so). plants don't use the blue spectrum.
i don't think you need a dsb. if you want one, you'll have to raise the skimmer like you said. you could make a little stand out of eggcrate and zip-ties fairly easily if you wanted to do this.

I say the benefits of the DSB is not worth the effort and difficulty with the tank to do so. Plus, you wont have a lot of space to do much of one. I say skip it and save the room, you'll love it later when maintaining.
