Ok, So now I have a new 90Gal tank. The bottom Glass is tempered and not supposed to be drilled. I don't want any equipment that hangs on the back.
So what are my options for filtration, skimming, sump, fuge, etc...
Thanks,
K

From what I understand a sump or refugium will require an overflow or return that will hang on the back. Especially if you can not drill the bottom. So you may have to resign yourself to having at least some lines hanging on the back.
A sand bottom with lotsa plant life could provide an amasing amount of filtration.

Use a pump instead of an overflow. Actually, you could reverse it if you can put the sump above the main tank. You could use an overflow on the sump, and have the pump in the main tank. I say this because I have cabinets above my kitchen reef tank where my fuge will go. If you can hide the plumbing, it should work out. Or you could forget the overflow and use pumps in both, but then you have to worry about the flow on both pumps, and one of the tanks overflowing. Just some ideas..... Seems like you are pretty limited w/ your options.

I don't mind having some lines go over the back, but I dont want some piece of equipment hanging on the back of the tank.
Does that help out any?
Thanks

that is what I thought you meant. I'll bump up my recent refugium project to give you some ideas. It is in the diy section thread my dyi refugium. there are several nice threads in the diy section on sumps and refugiums.
basically all the filtration can be under the tank or some other hidden place. I don't use or like skimmers but a skimmer can be in the sump/refugium also.
hope this helps
