sump help

Ok i have a 55gal. tank and iv been looking on the internet on youtube about sumps and wanting to make one. wat size tank should i use and if some bodey could explain a lil bit about one that would be very helpful thanks

The size sump you use depends on how much room you have under your stand. In my opinion, you want to use the largest tank possible, that'll fit...still leaving you room for equipment (skimmer, etc). I have a 45gal sump, for my 90gal tank...and that's only because I cant cram in a 55gal+.
Check out www.melevsreef.com and search thru his "Acrylics Works & DIY" section. He has everything from basic, 3 baffle sumps, to very complicated, multiple chamber sump systems.

o well i plan on puttin the diy tank right next to my 55 on a small stand so it will be more convinient for cleaning it im bout to go to wal-mart to look at tanks im looking into a 30 gal.

30g would be perfect for a 55.
still check out melevs reef if you havent, because there is great info there that any sump builder or designer should be familiar with
