How thick should baffles be in sump. 20g sump 1/8? 1/4 inch?

Plastic or glass, the thicker the better - incase you ever knock them (glass baffle) when you are working or moving something in the sump

Now that I have been looking into dumps I think I might go with a all acrylic dump over glass. Does it even matter glass or acrylic? A lfs has a 3 compartment 50g sump (used) for $50. Any thoughts

Whatever works. Acrylic is a better insulator. It's scratches easier but it's a sump so not a big deal. $50 sounds like a decent deal. Do you know what it's dimensions are?

Never used it. From what I've heard is that alot of folks who have tried it end up ditching it. One of it's claims is that it replenishes elements in the system but in order for it to continue doing so I would think you would have to replace some of it from time to time. But that's what we have reef salst for as it replenishes those elements when you do your water changes. What are you planing on keeping in the fuge?

Throw some cheato in there and if you ever get a mandarin or goby you might want to look into building a copepod condo. They're really easy to make and makes the copepods grow is a safe haven.

That may be true... I don't know that info. If you have a mandarin or goby it'll probably keep it under control I would assume. I had a ton in my sump and within a matter of days my mandarin cleaned house. Maybe I didn't have as many as what others would think are a lot, but my glass was swarming with those guys.
