Sump leaking

Help?
We moved the sump to a new tank the night before last and came home to puddle of salt water on the floor. It is leaking where the fitting screws on to the PVC piping on the sump. There is a black rubber seal and I think it is binding so the damn thing leaks. Any idea's or suggestions I would really appreciate. Any kind of lupe or sealant I can use that will not hurt the tank.
I have another question? My sump on my 140 has a piece of the plastic that came off on the inside. I want to glue it back in, but all the sealant's I have found takes 48 hours to cure. I need something that will cure in like an hour or so.
Thanks

Once those rubber gaskets get worn,or kinked they are pretty much junk. You can try to play with it,but trust me,,,it cheeper and easier just to replace it.try going to LOWES,or some other hardware store that has a MASSIVE plumbing section.Ask for help and bring the old one with you.If all else fails you can get a sheet of rubber and make your own....As for a quick fix on the broken piece.A quick fix is seldome a GOOD FIX...Use the 24 hour glue. You will be glad you took the extra time...
