I posted a question about keeping the noise down in my tank recently...

I got some great responses and decided to put together a sump muffler as my first step. I installed it today and cannot believe how much quieter my tank is running. I told my wife that I just improved her lifestyle. She knows it!

I had to modify the original design because the water flowed too quickly to dampen all of the noise and eliminate bubbles. You might notice that there is 4" piece of PVC at the bottom, which I replaced with a filter bag in the sump.
