Sump question.

I am in the process of setting up a 120 gal tank. I am getting a 30 gal tank to use for the sump. My other tank has a sump that was divided into two part that allows me to put a filter between my skimmer and the out take pump. Can I leave the tank open or is it a good idea to divide the tank? I am going to use my 29 bow for a refugium so I don't need to divide it for that.

you should be fine as long as your skimmer does not produce many bubbles. if it does you may want to add a divider so the bubbles dont make their way into the display tank.

I dont think it is necissary todevide a sump.
