Sump/refugium above tank

Is there any problem other than pumping the water up to my refugium above my tank? Im looking to put it on a dresser and have the water gravity feed back down to the display tank. That way it is kind of like the 75 g being the sump and the 29 being the display.
IE not using a Continuous overflow which i have heard have a tendancy to leak/overflow the sump...

The plan is fine, except I wouldn't use a siphon overflow in that situation. I would prefer getting the 29 drilled for a bulkhead. Just less headache IMO.

Yeah im gonna get the 29 drilled on the side of the tank facing the 75.

I have done it before, works fine, the only thing you want to watch is the overflow of course, get a strainer and be sure the algae does not clog it up. I had a snail get stuck in my above tank overflow hole and nearly had a disaster if I hadn't been right there.

That is really the best way to do it for pods and such. There would be a 0% kill rate for them getting back to your tank. But, some of us cant be so lucky. Mine is below my tank, and my magdrive pump gets most of the pods before they get to the main tank.
