sump water levels

i just setup my sump and has been running for a few days. I have an issue with the levels as of now. i have a t coming off of my overflow pipe to my recirculating skimmer. Also have a ball valve for flow control on my overflow pipe. My issue is, that my return pump chamber seems to be getting low and suck some air even after a day. Is this because i have alot of evaporation? my tank has no tops to keep cool and loses a bit of water in evap during the day. i dont think i could run a auto top off that far from ym RO/DI unit. any other ways to make sure my levels dont drop so fast?

My first thought would be that yes it is evaporation but, I would need some info or a pic of your sump design to give a definete answer. You could cover your tank and sump to slow evaporation but that may cause other issues such as oxygen deprivation or heat build up. It might be worth a redesign of your sump to give yourself more room for evaporation.

yea i know for sure that it is, i just talked to my friend about it. Me n him have the same issue, we didnt make our return chamber big enough to allow for evap, so i think im just going to take out my bubble traps for the chamber and leave it be at that because my skimmer has a bilt in bubble trap on it
