Little help please...
I have a 125 gallon FOWLR. I have a DIY overflow into a 10 gallon sump w/ bioballs and a filterpad for the big stuff. I have a rio 2500 returning this to the tank and no ball valves or anything. I am adding a small protien skimmer to the sump this week. I also have a RENA 225 in the opposite corner of my overflow to push and filter water from the onter corner. Now for my questions. My water parameters are fine and my water is clear but it does not seem like I am getting the turnover that I need. I look at other tanks and they have 2/3 overflows and a 55 gallon sump, now I have not had any issues with this set up and wondering what I can do to improve it or if I should leave it alone cuz it is going ok. Second question is where to point my return h20 from the sump. Some say across the top and others say send it low. What is the best and why? Just a few questions from a DIYourselfer...
