Sump

Due to problems over the weekend, I need to redo my sump. It was a drilled 20g with an external rainbow pump. The pump shut down and the 20g cracked. Thinking of using a submersible pump eliminating the need to drill another tank. Any suggestions on which is better (drilled or not drilled) and if I go with an undrilled tank, what pump would you suggest. I have a 90g tank with 3 bulkheads rated at 300g an hour each. The previous pump was rated at 740g/hr. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you having the water go into the sump over bio-balls???, just wondering... I have a rio 1600 submersible on mine (120 gal)it works fine.... with the submersible you do not really have to worry bout leaking...

Thanks for the info. The water is NOT going over bio balls. The sump is holding the skimmer and heater and is used to just move water. I've got a rio1700 working the skimmer and have had no problems with that one. It certainly couldn't hurt to get another rio for the water return.
