SUMP?????

What is a sump? I have heard a lot of you talk about this. Don't want to sound stupid, but I am still new. Thanks!

A sump is a tank, or container usually located under the tank in the stand. Water from the main tank is drained into via a stand pipe or overflow box and pumped back in via a pump. Its a place to keep you heater, pumps, carbon, skimmer, ect. so they are not in the tank, and adds more water to the system. HTH
