Are you feeding them? they need lots of spot feeding.I had one for a long time but then slowly stopped eating and starved to death.

I keep mine in my HOB refugium. I drop the food into my corals and fish into the Refugium. This way my sun coral gets the food and enough current. They are pretty neat looking when the open up fully.

you,ve got the right idea but i think it wont open becouse your handeling every time you feed it. If you want make small holes around that container and one hole on bottom flip
upside down and place over sunflower and with a doser reach in and feed trough single hole. :happyfish

the rock holds the cup down & the photoplankton will stay within the cup so the
coral can eat. If not the curent will push it away and create a fog in water.

So do you have a hole in the top of the can to squirt the food into or do you go under the can to squirt the food in? The can is ok in the water? How long do you leave the can over it? I have been thinking of getting one of these corals but afraid to since you have to feed every polyp.
Does anyone have black sun polyps that they can post pictures of? I saw a red one once, what about red?
