Yeah, ...
So I installed a 4x54w system a couple weeks ago on the tank and so the bulbs have had time to burn in. A few days ago, I got in my halides and I installed them in the canopy. they are 150w each, which isn't a whole lot compared to other metal halides.
Now, I looked at my tank today and the orange monti that was doing fine in the tank for the last few weeks is looking a little greyish in the middle.
I also noticed that the water temp was a little warmer than usual. I think my temp has swung up since installing the halides. No, my canopy is not vented with a fan, but I am thinking about it.
I turned my t5's off and I'm letting the halides run to "burn in" and then I'll be limiting the halides to turn on for only four hours or so a day. Does that sound like a plan?
Ugh. I need to get some quality test kits soon.
