Ok, so my LFS has been breeding these "Sunburst Anemones" that are really cool looking and I am debating on getting one. They are about 6 inchs when fully expanded and have a irredescent coloring with orange tenticles.
he wants $175 for them (with the 20lb live rock they are attached to).
any thoughts on these?

If it is very colorful as you state, the price is 'what can be expected'. nothing is ever cheap lol.
Ive never heard of anyone keeping on of these. Do you know anything about them?
Id be worried about it croaking on me.
Good Luck

The ones that he has are similar to the second picture. It is more Orange with very colorful aqua blues and has a bright irredescent color when under Actinic lights.
It is really cool. He has them in the same tank as Rose Bubbles and they blow the rose away

I think as long as you have the right light you are fine. There are some that are very light sensative (as well as water quality). I think 5-6 watts per gallon will allow survival for anything.
make sure that it is a hosting anemone and not a fish eater.

I would not buy one. Those annemones come form the cold water around california. You saltwater tank is probably around 78.I dont think the annemones could tolerate a change that great. That is why people set up beautiful cold saltwater tanks that blow some peoples tanks on here outta the water.
