what do you guys think about superbac overall? i poured it in, waited about 2 weeks and then started putting fish in and so far ive had no problems, but what experiences do you guys have with the product?

I personally think that stuff gives a false sense of security. I have seen disatrous results with a similar product for the company I work for and their fish system. The system is about 1400 gallons and I followed the directions perfectly. I received a bad batch and lost almost all my fish.I had to use a pot roast to help add bacteria to the system (yes a real pot roast). I would caution you to be diligent with water changes and check water parameters frequently.

Generally speaking, Super-Bac is a great product. Renee and I have actually met with and spoken with the developers. One does need to pay attention to the system's parameters when using it, but it has worked quite well for kick starting "emergency" QT's. We also usually dose new DT's with the stuff as well.
