Superskimmer Problem

I have a Coralife Superskimmer 65g.
This evening I looked at the collection cup and it was full (it was only half full an hour or so before). I emptied it and plugged the unit back in. After this bubbles would not form.
It appears that there is water in the air-inlet tubing. I try to blow it out, and it appears to siphon back in. I had this happen a few days ago, and I blew it clear and it started back up (on the first attempt I unplugged it and let it set for several hours before blowing it clear).
Any insight that you could provide on how to solve this problem would be valuable.

the air inlet tube must remain out of the tank!! it clips on the top part of the unit, out of the water. thats how you get the bubbles in.

Yes, but according to the instructions it attaches to the needlewheel pump which is under water. The tube does not fill with water, only the portion that is under water (a couple of inches).

If the top of the tube is out of water, then it appears you may have a leak where the tube hooks up to the valve underwater. You could try to take it off and cut a small piece off the tube and replace it. I had to do that when I first hooked mine up. Just an idea.

Thanks-
I took off the end of the needle pump assembly and reattached it. THis solved the problem. THere must have been a vacuum effect somewhere that casued the siphoning- I am now back up and skimming.
