Supplements?

What reef supplements do you guys use? I am looking for something that is safe and produces good results. I am currently only using Seachem Trace element. Thinking of trying something else. Maybe, Reef Plus? What do you think?

i don't use anything besides a good salt mix. what makes you think you are in need of trace elements?

I have always read they help coral grow faster. I guess I need an element test kit.

oh yeah! you can cause them alot of harm if you overdose supplements.

Never dose what you don't test for. I dose Mag, calcium and buffer as needed. I probably would not have to dose the mag but I use IO and it is always low.

Don't let the LFS fool you into buying a whole bunch of supplements like they did to me. Spent a ton of money unnecessarily.

Water changes should take care of most of your needs.

I use to dose all kinds of supplements because thats what I thought you had to do. Now I only make frequent water changes and everything is doing just as good as before. Changing water is definately cheaper than dosing.

I am in northern California and I have always had to test and add calcium and something to keep the pH up. I just barely keep at a pH of 8.1 if I am diligent.
