Whats up with the 10 dollar surcharge on orders? They say shipping is free which is cool but then every order has a 10 dollar surcharge on it anyway:confused:

Yeah, and Gas "was" $1.54 and now it's $1.84 (I remember when it was $0.25)...and Labor has gone up (you got a raise didn't you ?) and stamps are $0.37 ... It's all cost of doing business...

The price of gas went up as a result of our own people voting on some clean air act. After the vote took place, our own nations fuel maunfacturers (can't remember what they are called...but the last one was built in '67) any way they failed to meet the new standard that WE voted for, and as a result they had to "up-grade" all of their machinery, and that was not cheap...So, guess who pays for it??
But it's ok, cause it's what we voted for right?? It's exactly what we asked for!! Cleaner air.

You make clean air sound like a bad thing.
I don't think your reasoning is unfounded, however, that's not the reason for the sudden sharp rise in fuel prices. The basic reason is three things: supply, demand and greed. The supply of oil is controlled by the oil refineries, there are ships at this very moment waiting to off load their cargo, but that would create a surplus lowering the price of fuel. Second is demand. The fact is America consumes more fuel than any other country, I don't think that's going to change anytime soon. And last is greed. The oil companies (not gas stations) are at the advantage, they know that we will continue to pay continue our way of life that we have become so accustom to.
The primary goal of the oil companies is to make profit and they like to see their profits go up every year. That's what we pay for, production cost don't go up significantly, and the cost of upgrading a refinery are minor, but it's another reason for them to complain so they can raise the price for more PROFIT!:

No, no, no clean air is definately a good thing. It's just that people will sign any petition that comes along, and when the reprocutions affect their wallet they want to gripe!!! My point was only that we got what we asked for. When the people are asked to vote for clean air, nobody asks how it's going to happen. All they do is vote...THEN the prices go up and NOW everyone has a theory.:) I just get a kick out of it...
My favorite was, vote for the school system to get more money. Then everyone asks why their taxes went up!! (Happened here a short while ago)
REFINERIES- THAT was the word!!!:joy:

If they say shipping is free, if the fish is $50....All I should have to pay is $50. If I go to a LFS, I don't have to pay for the bag or box.

Your avatar is PERFECT for your last post!!! It's classic!!
Handling. Shipping & handling... Only the shipping is free.:D
Besides, the LFS doesn't bring it right to your doorstep, or make you waste all of your gas going to get it.:)
