Surface Skimmer for Prizm

I have heard there is an attachment for the prizm skimmer that makes it skim the surface of the water. One is made by Fluval http://shop.store.yahoo.com/worldpets/fluvsurskim.html and I attached the link to the website. Somebody else told me a BakPak skimmer box might work. I have never seen the skimmer or the box. Does anybody have any ideas? I am trying to find out which would work the best.

I have a Prism as well. I contacted RedSea directly concering the availability of a surface skimmer and media basket. My instruction manual indicates that both are available, but I couldn't find anyplace that carried them (my skimmer is only two weeks old). RedSea states that they will be available in appox three weeks, and to check www.thatpetplace.com as they should be stocking them. FYI.

Your problem is solved. I made my own. I bought an aquaclear surface skimmer. It is not a direct hook up. This is all i had to do. I got a piece of 1 in. hose. I used that to mate together the intake of the prizm and the adapter of the surface skimmer. It is a tight fit but it works. Now my valve on the skimmer is wide open. It works. I have oil in my cups. good luck. I want to say it cost me no more than $15. The top of my tank looks like glass:D

I got the hose at a lfs. I also got the top water skimmer from them. We just opened the package and took the fitting out and found a hose for it. The guy just cut off a small portoin of a hose and gave it to me. We also unboxed a skimmer and made sure it would fit on the intake tube.
good luck
notice that i said the inlet valve is fully open. It seems to work fine though.
