I bought a little surface skimmer to get some of the junk out from the top of the tank. I attached it to my pengiun 170. Whenever it takes water from the surface it does not let the bio wheel spin. How important is the spinning on this wheel? I have live rock and live sand that should also have plently biological filters on them. Any help would be nice.
