Day 1
Empty tank

Sump baffleless

After a long day of transfering everything to this tank here is what I had at about 2 am

This is how I had the sump setup so that the skimmer could start working

I thought that this idea might work for a refugium, but quickly I realized that it took up too much room and I didnt really like it.

After waiting a couple days for some cut glass this is the finished sump set up. Ive ran all my sumps like this and love it still.

Up and running. I tested the water level with power off so many times. This was topped off a little too high for my comfort but even like this the sump will still not overflow. I run my returns very high to the top of the water and even at this height it doesnt reach the top of the sump. (excuse the wire mess to the right)

Hi,
I have a 90g as well...looking good, I really like the cave.
I found that the best placement for the power heads were in the back pointing forward to the front. When I put them on the sides like that I didn't get as much flow for the corals. Just a suggestion.

So far this has been my best location. When I put it on the back it blows sand everywhere and exposes the bottom. I do want to get a weaker koralia and do this on the left side next to the overflow. Although all my corals seems happy. I have some growth pictures that I will post as well. Flow has always been something that I'm worried I don't have enough of but everything seems fine.

As long as you have no dead spots...all is well...LOL...don't fix what isn't broken.
The Koralia can be angled, so should you decide there is a need to move them...put them in the back corner and angle them toward the center front and a little upward to not disturb the sand. If you start seeing cyano, otherwise you need not even bother.

No cyano yet! But I don't trust that nasty stuff. Might be playing me for a fool

I should explain myself better, sometimes I don't realize how I sound. I meant that if you have trouble like I did...then change the possition of the PHs. Give me red slime any day over hair algae. My God bless I never see either one in my tanks again.
