The Aiptasia Eating Filefish, Acreichthys tomentosus, is a thin bodied fish colored in shades of green and brown. Their uniquely shaped bodies are dotted with white and dark splotches resembling some types of rock. These fish have lots of personality and do well in a large fish-only aquarium. They like to have rockwork or gorgonians that they can hide behind when startled, and will peer out with a curious eye. The Aiptasia Eating Filefish is also known as the Matted Filefish, Bristletail Filefish, or Matted Leatherjacket. As their name suggests, the Aiptasia Eating Filefish is one of the best reef dwellers for eating pesky aiptasia and glass anemones making them a beneficial and working member of your tank. They are not specialized eaters and will consume most prepared foods as well. They can be shy, aggressive towards small fish except its own species, and should be kept well fed to avoid nipping on corals.
