The Huchtii Anthias, also known as the Redcheek or Green Anthias, exhibits a striking blue outline along its body. Male Huchtii Anthias are yellow-green with an orange stripe just below the eye while female Huchtii Anthias exhibit more subdued coloring while retaining the orange stripe below the eye. The Huchtii Anthias, like most Anthias species, is hermaphroditic. They are best kept in groups of one male and several females. If the dominant male dies, the next largest female will often morph into a male and assume leadership of the group. The Huchtii Anthias is best kept in a tank of at least 50 gallons as an individual or 80 gallons as a group. They should be fed a varied diet that includes brine or mysis shrimp and should be fed several times a day. They are reef safe and are a beautiful fish to pair with other Huchtii Anthias with the backdrop of a stunning reef. The Huchtii Anthias will thrive in a temperature range of 72-78° F and a pH of 8.1-8.4.
