Do I touch them? Do I bury the "trunk" of the shave brushes in the LS? The Shave brushes don't give me the heebeejeebees, but those tube worms do. How do I locate them in the tank? Will they find their way to wherever they want to be? They are acclimated and in the tank just waiting to be Planted". TIA

the feather dusters pretty much can go anywhere. they are better not in strong current though. if they don't like where they are, they can move and build another tube. if they aren't attached to any rocks, you can bury them in sand. i don't know anything about the shave brushes. ? not sure what they are.

I've only kept one feather duster worm and I just layed it on some live rock, somewhat protected from real high water flow, but still allowing it's "feathers" to wave slighting in the tank.
Never had a shaving brush either - sorry nothing to add there.

I've seen those shaving bushes at the LFS, and it seem like they just burried a portion of the base in the LS. I think there were a few on the rocks though...not positive. I dont think that it would be important for the base to be in the sand nutrient wise, i would think that you just need to have it somewhere where it is anchored.

Thanks everybody - I actually DID touch the worms, not my favorite activity to date in my marine aquarium experience. I suspect I'll do worse B4 I fall out of love with this hobby! :D

yep, the feather dusters are icky to the touch. i was always scared i would crush the tubes! no worse than having to move around live rock, and know you got some critters hiding under there that can really sting the crap out of you. i've been lucky so far but that's my next expected "injury" :D
