Was it cured or raw? How big were the pieces? What life surived on the rock? Are you happy with the rock?

Well it is probably cured,but something is bound to die in shipping.So,you might want to re-cure it.I mean better safe than sorry.

I oredered some and it was cured but Predator is right there was some die off and it had a slight odor. It re-cured fairly quickly and after 3 weeks I believe it's fully cured. HTH
