Swimming With Great Whites

Hey guys,
Its always been a dream of mine to swim with great whites since I was very young. Im still very young (21) but as a graduation present to myself I want to go and take this little vacation. Ive researched some companies in California, South Africa and Australia, and the prices seem to be pretty uniform by country. I was wondering if any of you had done this or knew someone that has done this, as I would like some amount of feedback as well as recommendations about the trip.
Thanks in Advance
Ryan

although on the list of top ten killer sharks the great white is only like 7. Did you know there are three variations andit depends on where they are. The aulstralian has sharper, closer together teeth then the CA. And they have different behavior and size (although huge none the less) The CA is the biggest.
I would advise going to aulstralia bacause you can dive the great reef too!, and some people will take you out to catch a great white (if your and evil sucker who likes to fish)
Know your facts, your more likely to drown or have a heart attack then attacked by a shark. And most ppl survive an attack.
Just remember this, sharks dont mind you for the most part but dont press them cause they will snap.
And i will leave you with my 2 favorite shark facts
1) Your more likely to be killed by a soda machine then have a shark attack you
2) Last Year Buckets caused more deaths and injurys then sharks times 7!

I've been diving off the Channel Islands, Ca which is known as a breeding area for Great Whites. I personally have never seen one in person while diving but I do know of abalone and lobster divers that have seen them while diving. From what I've been told, the shark will leave you alone. I don't go diving there too much anymore. Too many seals.

While these stats may technically be true, i dont think they hold up when you intentionally go in the water with a great white without a cage. At that point, you are about 1 billion times more likely to be killed by a shark than a bucket or soda machine.

P.s.- ive been buzzed by about a 10 foot bull shark at about 40 feet that came from behind. NOT an experience i want to repeat

Ah Great Whites are old stuff carried over from Hollywood movies.... :) ...come on down to Florida and dive among the bullsharks if your looking for excitment.......Bull sharks reputations are slowly pushing the GW out of its position........I think whats awesome of the GW is its sheer size.....

yeah 20 ft sharks!
the bull sharks are bad, not a shark i like diving with.
I dive in florida alot and boy are those sharks unpredictable... :scared:
Im studying marine bio and we had a guy come in talking about sharks. He told us that great whites are not as dangerouse as they seem because most of their attacks are just them mistaking you for a seal or something. He even showed us a video of him being pulled along by a huge GW shark!!!
You should dive with hammer heads!!! The great hammer heads that is. (did you know there are 8 types of hammer heads!) I was diving under a bridge in the florida keys known for the hammer heads and was fortunate to have a group of like 8 swim above us. God it was cool

I didnt think I had to explain that I was planning on CAGE DIVING with these sharks but I guess I should never assume. I've been in love with this shark ever since I was a little kid, its size power and sheer strength Ive wanted to watch one breach forever and I could not think of a better graduation vacation than this. I live in MIAMI FL and dive with all kinds of sharks down here but its the GW that really has my attention, Im hoping CA will be the right decision I think Im leaning towards it. Dont worry in the event I do actually go, there will be more pictures than you want to look at.
