switch to led?

I have a biocube 14 and have been thinking of switching from the stock cfl to led but I'm not sure if the led will have equal to cfl light output. I have soft corals and don't want to loose them but I really like the look the led gives. I have seen some diy kits made just for the biocube made by direct led which look nice as it keeps the hood intact which is something I need to do, any suggestions?

Simply yes leds will wrk for you. Now not all are equall. You want reef capable leds. With enough light out put
