switchin' sand

i currently have a 10 gallon and im planning on moving the sand from it and adding to my 20,along with 12 more pounds, is that possible? the sands been in the 10 for about a month, and its 10lbs.

you can but its gonna be work. also be careful when putting the sand in so as to not cloud the water too much with the stirred up sand

do you have the new sand in the 20 already? if so then you can put your old sand right on top. use a plastic cup or container and hold it right near the bottom and slowly pour it out. since the old sand has bacteria on it itshouldnt cloud the tank at all or very much. and your sand should seed the new stuff
