Switching From HOB Filter To Sump...Help Please

im about to plumb my sump to my DT and set it up. im going to have a DSB 4-6" along with just my heater and pump down there for now. later i will add chaeto and sand sifters to sift the DSB. a skimmer is a bit off in the future for now. anyways my question is...i eventually want to get rid of my HOB filter...cause i have a sump now...but i dont want to take it away all of a sudden incase my params spike. i know that the filter media has all of the beneficial bacteria on it so if i just take the sponge, chemi-pure, and biomax and put it in the baffles will that be alright?
i will eventually get rid of the sponge once my DSB is established. i will use the sponge on my overflow to filter the water.
the chemi-pure i plan to keep down there (in the baffles) along with some purigen...so the biomax will also be taken out eventually.
im just want to make sure my levels will stay fine during the transition.
and if i use the sponge on my overflow (mechanical), the chemi pure in my baffles (chemical), and the DSB (biological) along with the purigen...is that good enough filtration?
incase this is important to answer my question...1/3 of my rock is live and 2/3 is base rock that has been in my tank for quite a few months. also...i plan on having a heavily stocked tank.
thanks for any help.
